A cow-calf being rescued from gutter tank in NIT Tiruchirappalli

Everyone mother is special! Why should not a mother of a lost calf who gets her baby just before a special day?

Two days before we rescued a female cow-calf from a gutter near plantation region of NITT. While I was out for photography in that evening I saw a lot of crows hovering over an area and shouting. When I went to that place I saw a calf head coming out from a gutter full of water. Immediately I placed my camera on the grass in shooting mode and went near the gutter and took her out slowly.She was shivering very much when I put her out on the grass.I had no idea what to do with the calf since there was no people around me and hostel was too much far away from this place.

Then I started calling Arjun, Arjun is snake rescuer in our college.But his call didn't get connected.Then I called Amol Anna and Ajay, both after getting my short story on phone finally reached there within 5 minutes. We together took the calf near Arjun Hotel because we knew that he only can help us. Arjun arrived and we took the calf in his room. We Purchased a milk feeding bottle from NITT Hospital and fed milk to the calf. We applied some anti-bacterial medicine to the wounded portion of the calf. And after all these Amol Anna, Ajay and I came back to our hostel.Arjun said that he will take care of her. 




The morning when I called Arjun he told me that the calf was bleeding so much that he had to call the doctor. The doctor gave some medicine and injection.

Finally, in the morning the calf was fine to go to her mother. But the problem was that how to search her mother.But with the help of security and housekeeping staff, Arjun could able to search her mother easily before I came to him.
